'The Washington Post' Debuts Financial Guide

The Washington Post has launched a new product: Michelle Singletary’s Money Milestones, a guide providing tips for navigating the financial decisions at each stage of a person’s life.

Singletary has been writing the column, "The Color of Money," for 25 years.

“This project draws from many of those questions and will provide timely advice for the big financial milestones in life, such as finding your own healthcare when you turn 26, buying your first home, investing for retirement, planning your estate, and everything in between,” Singletary states.

Readers can access an audio recording and companion Post Reports episodes.

In another Post development, owner Jeff Bezos visited the newsroom for the first time in a year, according to GeekWire. Bezos, the founder of Amazon, attended a news meeting at the Post last Thursday, driving speculation as to why he was there.

The company had announced that there would be layoffs continuing in 2023.

Bezos bought the Post for $250 million in 2013.

In other Post news, Lili Loofbourow, a writer for Slate, was named as the paper’s new TV critic, starting Monday.

Loofbourow has written about television and politics, gender, comedy, fandoms and social media for Slate, where she served as staff writer since 2018, the Post says.
