MidJourney, a research lab focused on design, the arts and AI, is starting a monthly print magazine.
The announcement was made in a tweet on Wednesday.
Each issue will feature artwork curated from the 10,000 most highly rated images, and interviews with Midjourney community members.
The tweet promises “breathtaking images, and of course, prompts.”
The cost is $4 per month. The first issue is being offered for free.
The announcement has not been met with universal cheers.
Gizmodo writes that “Midjourney, an art generator powered by artificial intelligence, creates realistic images based on a user’s text input, with tiers of subscriptions ranging from free to ‘Pro’ at $60 per month.”
And Forbes reports that Midcentury is being sued by entities that accuse the firm of copyright infringement.
