Brian Cox of HBO’s “Succession” stars in a DirecTV commercial in which he plays an overly direct spokesperson.

In the ad, via TBWA\Chiat\Day, Cox shows his over-directness by pointing out what you’re missing out on. “Looks like they caught the finale,” he says, as a white-collar office worker watches his fellow workers talking about a particular show, while he says to the first worker, “You can’t even find the show.”

Cox concludes that, “So much of life is compromise,” but DirecTV “never is.” Sitting on a couch, he tells a family opposite to “get out of here. The game’s on.” They then inform him that they live there. “Fascinating,” Cox says.
