While Fox News Channel's prime-time TV
ratings have languished since incendiary host Tucker Carlson got the boot, its online audience traffic actually jumped, according to right-wing news site tracker The Righting. One caveat though: The
traffic data The Righting analyzed is based on Comscore data for the entire month of April, but Carlson wasn't let go until April 24.
That said, foxnews.com's unique visitor count soared 31%
year-over-year for April to 91.9 million.
Foxnews.com's growth was part of a broader trend of right-wing news sites increasing traffic in April, according to The Righting's analysis, which
notes that more than half of its top 20 list showed gains.
“News detrimental to the Foxnews.com brand in April like the sudden departure of Tucker Carlson and the settlement of the
Dominion lawsuit, had little impact on its ability to attract more visitors," noted The Righting President Howard Polskin, adding, "Furthermore, other right-wing websites appeared to benefit from
their coverage of the Fox upheaval as well as the Dylan Mulvaney/Bud Light controversy and the start of the Donald J. Trump sexual assault trial.”
