Vox Media has named Lillian Xu as executive director of its audio business. Xu will lead strategic initiatives, franchise expansions, partnerships, and business operations and partner with She'll partner with Ray Chao, SVP and general manager for audio, to support expansion of the Vox Media Podcast Network.

Previously, Xu was senior director of strategy and business development at New York Public Radio. While there, Xu worked with Vox to distribute its daily news podcast, Today, Explained, to public radio stations and oversaw partnerships and growth initiatives for podcasts like Radiolab and the New Yorker Radio Hour.

Xu has also served as a management consultant in Oliver Wyman’s Digital practice.
