This Burger King ad spans about 50 years in 60 seconds.

In the ad, via BBH, a young man sees a Whopper TV ad in the late 1960s and then walks on the street, but as he walks it morphs into the 1970s and his hair get longer. Soon it’s the 1980s and people are wearing roller skates and there’s a video on TV of a DJ scratching a record. Along the way, the man keeps getting besieged by Whopper ads.

As time moves forward, the man’s look is updated (he gets short hair and a beard) and a shot shows the BK logo is being painted over what looks like a McDonald’s logo.

Still, after seeing all those ads for a Whopper, the man orders a Chicken Royale while a caption reads, “We give up.”

The Chicken Royale is a chicken sandwich marketed in international BK locations, like the UK.
