Ward Media Acquires 5 Washington Publications

Ward Media, LLC, the publishing firm recently founded by Terry Ward and Amy Yaley, has acquired five publications serving North Central Washington from NCW Media, Inc.

These are the Leavenworth Echo, Cashmere Valley Record, Lake Chelan Mirror, Quad City Herald, and the Wenatchee Business Journal.

Terms were not disclosed.

In July, it was announced that Ward was leaving his post as vice president and regional publisher at Sound Publishing.

Eran Kennedy was named to succeed Ward as publisher of the Peninsula Daily NewsSequim Gazette and Forks Forum.

Ward and Yaley aim to “maintain the high journalistic standards set by NCW Media and, simultaneously, explore innovative ways to engage with our readers and serve the local communities," Ward says.

Yaley has experience in sales, marketing, public relations, events, and promotions.

"Terry Ward and Amy Yaley have a proven track record of dedication to journalism and a strong understanding of the unique needs of local communities,” says Carol Forhan, president of NCW Media.

NCW Media was represented in the deal by Dave Gauger of Gauger Media Services, Inc.
