Stagwell media agency Assembly has created a Chief Activation Officer role in Europe and tapped GroupM's Greg Shickle to fill it.

Shickle, who most recently was head of Wavemaker's Nexus unit in the U.K., and held senior roles in the London offices of Wavemaker, MEC and GroupM before that.

Earlier in his career, he held a variety of positions in the U.K. operations of other agencies, including head of search for Carat.

"We're in the most significant moment in advertising," stated Shickle, who will be based in Assembly's London offices reporting to Europe CEO Matt Adams.
