Corner Bakery Welcomes Nat'l Bakery Day With 99-Cent Cookie Offer

Corner Bakery Cafe today announced a promotion in honor of National Bakery Day on Sept 22: All the chain’s signature baked-on-premises cookies will be available for 99 cents each the entire month.

Available cookies include classic flavors like chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, sugar and English toffee. The chain also offers its Monster cookie, which contains Corner Bakery’s cookie base and is hand-rolled and covered in M&M'S.

The Dallas-based company also recently revamped its loyalty program. For every $1 spent, customers earn five points towards unlocking the next membership tier. Perks include exclusive email offers and a free treat on the customer’s birthday. The benefits increase along with each tier, with higher-tier members receiving rewards including 99-cent beverages, buy-one-get-one offers, and $5-off coupons. Catering customers can also participate in the rewards program.

Founded in 1991 in Chicago, Corner Bakery has approximately 100 locations in 18 states across the U.S., including Washington, D.C. The chain began serving baked goods such as bread and pastries, but later expanded to prepared-to-order soups, salads, sandwiches and paninis.

Corner Bakery sought Chapter 11 protection in the Delaware Bankruptcy Court earlier this year. The company was acquired in June by SSCP, a Dallas-based restaurant enterprise leader, for $15 million. SSCP is also the parent company of Cicis Pizza and fine dining restaurant Roy's, and also owns and operates various Applebee's and Sonic Drive-In's in Texas, California and Virginia.
