Los Angeles magazine, which claims to be the first city magazine in America, is working with Creative Artists Agency (CAA) to develop stories into movie
properties.
CAA will help the magazine develop scripted and unscripted series and films, according to The Hollywood
Reporter.
Last December, the magazine was acquired by attorneys Mark Geragos and Ben Meiselas from Hour Media, who purchased it from Emmis along with other titles
in 2017. The sale to Geragos and Meiselas included Pasadena and Orange Coast.
The new owners, both Los Angeles natives, said they planned to
invest in the magazine’s journalism and expand its digital and social media presence.
“I am thrilled to partner with CAA to bring the most interesting stories
about the greatest city in the world to an even bigger audience,” says Meiselas, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “CAA is the best in the
business.”
Shirley Halperin, who was then serving as executive editor of music on Variety, was named editor-in-chief of Los
Angeles magazine earlier this year.
