Gannett Co., Inc. has inked a multi-year deal with Jackpocket, a lottery app, to become the latter’s media partner.
Jackpocket will become the exclusive digital lottery courier of the USA Today Network, allowing audience members to order lottery tickets from their phones.
The goal is to “leverage the synergies between our mutual audiences including our 45 million engaged sports fans,” says Kate Gutman, Gannett Senior Vice President of Content Ventures. “Given our reach and authority across the U.S., we hope to introduce Jackpocket as a simple and fun way to order official state lottery tickets from the comfort of home or on a device.”
Jackpocket will be integrated within lottery content published across the USA Network. This will include USA Today and local publications like azcentral.com, northjersey.com and statesman.com.
In addition, Jackpocket will be the launch sponsor of the USA Today Network’s lottery hub.
Checking in on the Jackpocket website on Monday showed that there was an over $1 billion Powerball prize and a $300 million Mega Millions prize about to be drawn.
