Dog Haus Keeps Chicken, Leaves Out Bread, For New Bowls

Growing hot dog, hamburger and chicken sandwich chain Dog Haus is taking the chicken sandwich craze in a bit of a healthier direction.

The chain is taking two of its most popular chicken sandwiches and turning them into new salad bowls.

Available now through Feb 29, the salads are the Bad Mutha Clucka, containing two beer-battered or grilled hormone- and antibiotic-free chicken tenders, pickles and miso ranch served on mixed greens, and The Hot Chick, made up of two Nashville-style, beer-battered or grilled hormone- and antibiotic-free chicken tenders, haus slaw, pickles and secret sauce atop mixed greens.

“Adding more healthy options is a longstanding priority, complementing our already-diverse lineup,” said Dag Haus founding partner Hagop Giragossian.

In addition to the new salads, the chain has  added a new cocktail, only available at  Dog Haus Biergarten locations. The El Guapo consists of tequila, dark rum, Aperol, pineapple juice and lime juice, garnished with an orange slice and cherry.

Sales of the limited time salads will also help Dog Haus’ national charity partner No Kid Hungry. For every salad  sold, $1 will go to the organization working toward ending child hunger in America.

First opened in the Los Angeles suburb of Pasadena in 2010, Dog Haus touts its “high quality ingredients with 100% all natural, vegetarian-fed, hormone- and antibiotic-free... meat.” The chain now has nearly 100 locations.
