Dippin’ Dots has
embarked on a sweet collab celebrating a new Super Mario film and gamer holiday.
The 120-unit dessert chain has teamed up with Nintendo and Illumination on a limited-time flavor to
promote the upcoming release of “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie” on April 1. The new film is a sequel to “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” from 2023, which earned more than $1.3
billion worldwide.
The Galaxy Pop flavor is now available at Dippin’ Dots nationwide. It’s a multicolored version of the brand’s signature beaded ice cream also on sale in
movie theaters and at select entertainment destinations through April 30.
“We wanted this to feel playful and a little unexpected,” said Kimmra Hingher, vice president of marketing
at Dippin’ Dots and ICEE. “The mystery behind Galaxy Pop, along with the collectibles, gives fans something new to discover, whether they're stopping by a Dippin’ Dots location for
Mario Day or heading to theaters for new ‘The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.’”

The collaboration also commemorates Mario Day, which takes place March 10. The gamer
holiday is an annual fan-created celebration of Nintendo’s Mario character. Free “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie”-themed souvenir collectible cups will be given out at Dippin’
Dots on March 10 while supplies last. Limited-edition collectible spoons in three different film-themed designs will also be available at Dippin’ Dots locations through April 30.
Separately. Dippin’ Dots sister brand ICEE Company (both are owned by J&J Snack Foods) will release two-limited-time only flavors, also as part of “The Super Mario Galaxy
Movie” partnership. Star Power Cherry and a Peach Freeze ICEE flavors are theater-exclusive offering available at select cinema partners.
