Dentsu has invested an undisclosed amount and is among the producers of "The Angry Birds Movie 3," another sequel in the half billion dollar movie franchise.
Importantly, the agency holding company says it sees opportunities for brand marketers to play a role and participate in the film's production as part of its association.
"While Dentsu has been involved in entertainment for some time both internationally and in Japan, our involvement in the next 'Angry Birds' movie is a new strategic direction for us," says Dentsu Global Head of Entertainment Cathy Boxall, explaining, "It allows us to create unique and exciting opportunities for clients and partners at the inception of a production, rather than just as a follow-up to a launch. The lines between entertainment and brand are blurring because of new investment models, but also because audiences are demanding it from the brands they're loyal to."
