Yahoo News Hires Hearst Exec Brooke Siegel As VP Of Content

Brooke Siegel has been named vice president of content for Yahoo News.

She will oversee global editorial and curation, including the brand’s original reporting strategy, content curation and audience growth initiatives in newsletters, social media and visual journalism. Her assignment includes all Yahoo News products and the new Yahoo News app. 

Previously, Siegel was senior vice president of content at Hearst Magazines, overseeing editorial strategy and operations for over 20 brands and publications. Prior to joining Hearst, she was editor in chief at DailyWorth, a media company featuring content on personal finances for women.

“Our goal at Yahoo News is to be a trusted guide for users through content from hundreds of trusted publishers,” says Kat Downs Mulder, senior vice president and general manager, Yahoo News, to whom Siegel will report. “Brooke’s expertise in digital media and her proven track record in driving growth will add tremendous value as we continue to accelerate our product and content curation for Yahoo News readers.”

The Yahoo news and information platform now has over 185 million monthly visitors.
