Dunkin' Latest Brand Boycotted By Conservatives

Dunkin’ is the latest brand under fire by the far right due to the company’s advertising policies.

The controversy  started on Aug. 7, when a marketing agent from Inspire Brand, which acquired Dunkin', wrote an email to Rumble Video, stating that the donut and coffee retailer would not advertise on the site due to its "right-wing culture.”

“Rumble's CEO, Chris Pavlovski, posted the email to X with his response: ‘No, we don't discriminate. All cultures are welcome on Rumble,’” according to the Arizona Republic. “He followed it with another post saying that he created ‘@rumble1775 coffee, a coffee for all cultures.’”

Conservative media personality Catturd, who has 2.7 million followers on X, started #BoycottDunkinDonuts that same day.

“His post on X read: 'Trend it, retweet it... Another woke company that thinks they have power over us. So tired of these woke idiots,’” per the Arizona Republic. "The hashtag was the number one food trend on the platform on Aug. 7. People responded with statements like, ‘Go woke. Go broke.’”

Rumble, a video-sharing platform with over 1 million followers, is backed by billionaire Peter Thiel and former Fox News figure Dan Bongino.

“Rumble is joining Elon Musk's social media company, X, formerly Twitter, in suing a group of advertisers over allegations that they withheld business from the social media firms because of the right-wing content hosted on their platforms,” according to Newsweek

Tractor Supply Company, John Deere and Harley Davidson all have come under fire recently.

“MAGA supporters boycotted Bud Light after the beer company collaborated with trans activist Dylan Mulvaney in 2023, according to Distractify. “And many have called for the boycott of Starbucks due to its alleged support of Israel amid the current Israel-Palestine conflict.”

Neither Dunkin' Donuts or Inspire Brands has responded to the controversy through their social media accounts despite being tagged, according to the Ventura County Star.

The writer of this article really needs to get her facts straight, regarding the erroneous statement, “And many (MAGA supporters) have called for the boycott of Starbucks due to its alleged support of Israel amid the current Israel-Palestine conflict.”  Trump supporters and Republicans in general are overwhelming pro-Israel. It is the democrats who are more likely to be pro-Hamas, particularly the left wing of the party. As a Jew and a Zionist, it is important that we understand who our allies are. Can I suggest to the writer that she edits the piece and does a better job of including sources to make it consistent with MediaPost trustworthiness?
