Global giant Filipino chicken chain Jollibee has announced the return of its purple colored Ube dessert pie, along with launching a new line of branded merchandise in time for back to school.
Ube, a purple yam with a distinct nutty, sweet flavor, is a popular ingredient in desserts throughout Southeast Asia and has been gaining in popularity in the U.S. Jollibee’s mildly flavored Ube filling is surrounded by a flaky crust, creating the handheld pie.
The company first debuted the item in 2021.
Additionally, Jollibee's Bacon and Cheese Chicken Sandwich and Aloha Chicken Sandwich, previously LTO items, have been permanently added to the menu.
Jollibee also announced several new branded merchandise drops of brightly colored clothing and accessories for adults, kids and their pets. Earlier this month the brand released a new mascot T-shirt, in adult, child and infant sizes; a branded hardcover journal; a Jolly beach towel; Jolly keychains and a "Hungry for Jollibee" dog bandana. The new merch is available here.
