Dovid Efune, owner of the New York Sun, has made a roughly £550 million bid to acquire the UK’s Daily and Sunday Telegraph. 

Efune made the winning bid last month, The Guardian reports. 

Earlier this month, British hedge-fund billionaire Paul Marshall acquired the Spectator for a reported £100 million pounds, splitting up The Spectator and Telegraph. 

The two titles were put in play when Jeff Zucker and the venture company Redbird abandoned an attempt to buy them. 

The Telegraph acquisition is subject to regulatory approval, The Guardian says. 

Efune is the former editor of The Algemeiner Journal.
