Study: McDonald's, Domino's Most-Searched For QSRs Online

 

As competition continues into winter for the best QSR meal deal, McDonald’s is the most-searched-for fast food restaurant online, with 14.8 million monthly searches, according to a recent study conducted by Restaurant Furniture, a commercial furniture manufacturer, which analyzed regional Google search data for the last year.

The new study shows the most searched-for fast food restaurants, based on regional average monthly search volume over the last 12 months of the highest earning fast-food restaurants across America.

McDonald’s, which is also the #1 searched for QSR in 22 states, has the most search entries in Arizona, Maryland, New Jersey and Oklahoma.

Those searching specifically for meal deals will find more in the new year from the burger behemoth. The McValue platform will contain the $5 Meal Deal, originally a limited-time offer which has been extended through summer of 2025, per the brand. Also included in the McValue platform is a new Buy One, Add One for $1 deal on popular items for breakfast, lunch and dinner such as the Sausage McMuffin or Hash Browns in the morning or a 6-pc. Chicken McNuggets or Double Cheeseburger for lunch or dinner.

Following McDonald’s as search royalty is Domino’s, with 11.6 million monthly average searches, with the top states being Louisiana, Vermont and Wyoming. The chain just celebrated its 1000th store opening in China.

Chick-fil-A came in a close third, with 11.2 million monthly average searches. The highest concentration of searches came from Georgia, South Carolina and Virginia.

The chicken chain recently launched a new app, Chick-fil-A Play, which was “designed for parents and kids to share and experience together.” The app contains family-friendly original entertainment content such as animated shows, podcasts, games, craft ideas and e-books.

In fourth place is Starbucks, with 10.6 monthly searches across the country. California, New York, and Washington are among the top states searching for the coffee powerhouse, despite the chain’s recent lagging sales.

Pizza chains own both fifth and sixth places, with Pizza Hut at 9.1 million monthly searches and Papa John’s following with 5.4 million monthly average searches. Kentucky searches for Papa John’s the most, while Kansas is the top state for Pizza Hut monthly searches.
