Domino's Rewards 'Squid Game' Players With Emergency Pizza In Netflix Partnership


No one is going to say no to a free pizza, but now New York fans of Netflix’s “Squid Game” in New York can score free pizza for life when they need it most: after losing the game in real life.

Today Domino’s announced it has partnered with Netflix on its latest “emergency pizza” giveaway to promote the second season of the hit show “Squid Game,” premiering on Netflix Dec. 26.

The pizza chain is activating its emergency pizza collab in real life at “Squid Game: The Experience,” an interactive immersive gaming attraction at Manhattan Mall in New York City.  On Dec. 12, the player with the lowest score from each competing group will win free Domino’s Emergency Pizza for a year, in the form of gift cards.

"Those who watch Netflix's 'Squid Game' know that losing is the ultimate emergency, but Domino's is here to turn that around," said Kate Trumbull, Domino's executive vice president, chief marketing officer, in the announcement. "We're making lemonade out of lemons for players by solving their predicament with free pizza for a year, so they can have Domino's whenever their next emergency happens."

At "Squid Game: The Experience" players compete in five different challenges inspired by the popular show. A “Pink Guard” will present the lowest scoring player in of each group with free Emergency Pizza for a year. The award is in the form of $500 in gift cards within a custom Domino's and Squid Game Dalgona tin.

Domino’s is also promoting the Netflix show with a new ad campaign, consisting of two :30 “Squid Game” themed TV spots, “Red Light Green Light” and "Dalgona Challenge," seen here, which show the Emergency Pizza coming to the rescue of nerve-wracked “Squid Game” fans. In addition to national TV, the spots will stream on Netflix’s own ad-supported network.

The "Squid Game" promo marks the second time Netflix has teamed up with Domino’s. Previously the pizza chain and Netflix created an ordering app for the season four premiere of “Stranger Things.”
