Journalists will soon have access to a set of tools to
help them responsibly use and report on algorithms.
Algorithmic Literacy for Journalists, a collaboration between Project Censored and Reynolds Journalism Institute (RJI)
will debut on March 7 at RJI.
“Journalists and newsrooms have vital roles to play in helping the public understand the promise, limitations, and risks of
algorithmic technology in our everyday lives,” says Andy Lee Roth, editor at large at Project Censored. “With ALFJ they have an innovative new tool for carrying out that
mission.”
The new toolkit includes:
- A guide for conducting an algorithmic audit
- Strategies for avoiding
advertising blocklists.
- Guidance for covering new developments in AI.
