The News/Media Alliance, a nonprofit group that represents more than 2,200 news and magazine organizations, has named Greg Orlando as senior vice president of government
affairs. Orlando will lead key legislative initiatives for the Alliance.
Previously, Orlando handled broadband regulatory policy at the National Rural Electric
Cooperative Association. He has also served as general counsel to the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Sciences and Transportation, advising Senator John Thune, now Senate Majority Leader, on
telecommunications and broadband.
“I’m very excited to welcome Greg to the News/Media Alliance team,” said Alliance president and CEO Danielle
Coffey. “He brings a tremendous breadth of experience, at a particularly pivotal time for the news media industry. I look forward to working with him to advance important member initiatives and
priorities.”
