Jersey Mike's Subs' 'Day of Giving' Raises $30M For Charity

March may have been Jersey Mike’s 15th annual Month of Giving, but one day shattered the chain’s previous 2024 fundraising efforts by $5 million.

On March 26, over 3000 Jersey Mike’s locations across the country and Canada participated in the chain’s annual Day of Giving, in which 100% of sales that day benefit over 200 local charities.

This year the day raised over $30 million, topping last year’s record of $25 million, which will go to hospitals, youth organizations, food banks and others.

The brand promoted the Day of Giving with a new TV and streaming ad featuring actor and New Jersey native Danny DeVito. In the spot, seen here, DeVito has just completed writing  thank-you cards to the 1,819,154 people who bought sandwiches on last year's Day of Giving. As he brags to Jersey Mike’s Founder and CEO Peter Cancro about his accomplishment, Cancro reminds him of the upcoming 2025 Day of Giving. The ad concludes with DiVito suggesting that perhaps a group text would be a more appropriate thank you for 2025.

The annual Day of Giving is the chain’s busiest day of the year. Including this year, Jersey Mike's has raised $143 million for local charities since the Month of Giving began in 2011.

Last week the chain, which now boasts almost 4000 stores open or in development, entered a multiyear partnership with the NFL as the league’s official sub sandwich sponsor.  Jersey Mike's replaced Subway, which had been the league’s sub sandwich sponsor since 2020. Jersey Mike’s is also the official sub sandwich of the National Hockey League.
