Blinging Out: Chicken Chain Raising Cane's Sells Flavor Flav's Trademark Necklaces

Rapper and pop culture icon Flavor Flav has lent himself, and his oversized, blinged-out clock necklaces, to a new QSR campaign.

Flavor Flav is promoting the chicken chain Raising Cane’s with TV, OOH, in-store and other executions.

The musician has been known for wearing a comically oversized clock around his neck since arriving on the music scene as part of seminal rap group Public Enemy in the early 1980s.  And while the rapper is known for giving away his bedazzled clocks to celebrities such as musician Billie Eilish and athletes like Olympic gymnast Jordan Chiles, this is the first time the coveted clocks have been available for public purchase.

The chicken chain is selling limited-edition, bespoke, co-branded Raising Cane’s Flavor Flav clock necklaces, created by celeb jeweler Rock N Stonez. The clocks feature red rhinestones and a white clock face with both Raising Cane’s and Flavor Flav logos, and are signed by Flav.

Available while supplies last at RaisingCanesGear.com, the clocks sell for $5,000, with net proceeds going to support the Women’s Sports Foundation, a group that “empowers girls and women to unlock their full potential both in sports and in life,” according to the announcement

The campaign launched with a live event at a Raising Cane’s in Las Vegas, where Flav worked as a Raising Cane’s crewmember serving customers, building combos and performing. Clips from his stint behind the cash register appeared on the brand’s TikTok and Facebook platforms.

Flav worked alongside 18-time Paralympic gold medalist Jessica Long. Long, who is also a captain for WSF, was gifted a clock by Flav.

“Flavor Flav is an icon in many ways and I couldn’t think of anyone better to join us at Cane’s …and be the face of our upcoming campaign about flavor,” commented Todd Graves, CEO of Raising Cane’s, at the event. “He’s a great guy and we share a passion for helping others, so it makes me proud that we can team together and support the Women’s Sports Foundation and continue making a difference.”
