Media investment firm Valnet has acquired Polygon, a digital gaming publication, from Vox Media.
The terms were not disclosed.
Polygon will now be integrated into Valnet’s gaming portfolio, including Game Rant, TheGamer, Fextralife, OpenCritic, DualShockers, and HardcoreGamer. The group reaches over 1.2 billion users per year.
“This moment marks a powerful reaffirmation of our deep commitment to gaming, a space we’ve passionately invested in for years,” says Hassan Youssef, founder and CEO of Valnet. “The addition of Polygon not only strengthens our editorial muscle but also amplifies our ability to deliver unmatched value to both audiences and advertisers.”
Polygon was founded in 2012 as part of Vox Media’s portfolio. It attracts a US monthly reach of over 6 million, according to Comscore, including more than 3.5 million social media followers.
