Wendy McMahon Stepping Down As Head Of News At CBS

Wendy McMahon is leaving her post as president and CEO of CBS News and Stations and CBS Media Ventures, a role she has held since 2023, saying “the company and I do not agree on the path forward.”

There appear to be several stresses pending at the news organization, which produces both TV and online content. One is the upcoming merger between parent company Paramount Global Skydance.

Another is a  $20 billion lawsuit filed by President Trump, claiming that 60 Minutes misled the public by editing an interview with then-candidate and Vice President Kamala Harris.

According to CBS News, CBS says Trump’s claims are “completely without merit.”

Whatever the reasons, McMahon says, "It's time for me to move on and for this organization to move forward with new leadership," CBS News reports.

In April, Bill Owens, announced in April that he would step down as executive producer of "60 Minutes" at the end of the season, CBS News adds.
