Politico has named Ben Reininga
as vice president audio & video, effective June 24, and Haley Thomas as head of content-audio & video, starting on July 8.
The investment in these hires reflects “a top priority
for our organization: to expand the ways we reach and engage our audience,” says the announcement by Goli Sheikholeslami, chief executive officer and John Harris, global editor in chief of
Politico.
Reininga will report to Jonathan Greenberger and Thomas will report to Reininga.
Previously, Reininga was global head of news at Snapchat, where he spent five
years.
Thomas arrives from CNN, where she served as a founding member of the audio team and was instrumental in advancing CNN’s audio strategy.
The announcement continues
that “Ben and Haley will work with teams across North America and Europe and lead our ambitious plans to diversify our distribution strategy and redefine how audiences experience Politico
journalism."
