
AccuWeather has formed a strategic
partnership with answer engine Perplexity that will deliver weather forecasts and alerts to millions of Perplexity users.
Perplecity’s weather answer page and generative AI
responses to queries will be powered by AccuWeather’s hyperlocal forecasts and features like MinuteCast and RealFeel Temperature.
The answer platform will also benefit from
severe weather alerts.
“We feel strongly that bringing our potentially lifesaving weather forecasts and information directly to Perplexity’s users is paramount
to AccuWeather’s mission of saving lives and protecting property,” says Steven R. Smith, chief executive officer at AccuWeather.
The AccuWeather database
features over 300 parameters and more than 70 years of historical data, the firms say.
