Adam Sandler may be reprising his role
as “Happy Gilmore” in the film’s upcoming July 25 Netflix sequel, but he won’t be alone in his return to the franchise.
The character of Happy Gilmore memorably
extolled the virtues of Subway’s Cold Cut Combo in the first film released back in 1996, as seen here. The sandwich giant is also back
for the sequel, making a yet-to-be disclosed appearance, and promotions will be ramping up in-store nationwide beginning July 10.
Subway has launched a series of collectible "Happy
Gilmore"-themed cups, available when customers make their combo or Meal of the Day a “Happy Gilmore Meal” for an additional $1. The cups, drawn by animator and illustrator Mickey Duzyj,
each feature a different character from the sequel: Happy Gilmore himself, Happy’s rival Shooter McGavin, former Silver Acres orderly Hal L. or new caddie Oscar.

also launched “Subway’s Happy Place,” an “immersive digital experience inspired by Happy’s iconic dream world and reimagined by Subway and Netflix.” Customers gain
entrance into the digital world through a QR code on the limited edition packaging for the Happy Gilmore Meal. Once inside, customers can view movie clips, play games and win prizes and
limited-edition merchandise. Customers can also access the “Happy Place” at SubwayHappyPlace.com.
A weekly “Happy Gilmore” sweepstakes with over $1 million in prizes
begins July 10, with Subway MVP Rewards members able to obtain bonus entries to win items like: a custom golf cart, golf locker kit and branded golf gear, golf apparel and leisurewear, weekly $3,000
cash prizes (delivered as “Big Ass Checks,”) and a grand prize golf resort trip for two. Additional giveaways include instant win prizes, such as up to $500 in “Subway
