Remember bookazines? For that matter, remember trains? The two have been combined in a new product. Bauer Media UK is publishing a bookazine celebrating the
200th anniversary of the British railroad network, titled Rail 200. It appears in September.
The 228-page collector’s edition traces the
history of the UK’s railroad system, from the first passenger line in 1825 to the 200 mile-per-hour Eurostar.
Three publications have participated:
Rail,Steam Railway and Model Rail.
“This special souvenir bookazine doesn’t just tell the 200-year story of rail;
it’s also the story of how a transport invention changed our economy, how and where we live, and how we spend our free time,” says Dickon Ross, editor, Rail. And it’s a story that’s just begun, as we look at what we think the future holds for the story of
rail.”
Bauer Media UK claims to reach 25 million consumers.
