SmartNews, a news aggregator app, has debuted a standalone app called NewsArc. 

Unlike SmartNews, which offers quick updates and is organized for scanning breaking headlines, NewsArc provides more thoughtful, longer-form reading, SmartNews says. 

The company claims that NewsArc prioritizes substance, unlike aggregators that chase clicks with engagement-driven algorithms. 

NewsArc is powered by its Arc platform, which deploys large language models and AI agents to sort and identify news patterns. The platform has been under development for two years, SmartNews says. 

SmartNews works with over 3,000 media partners to deliver trending news, delivering more than 400,000 articles per day, according to its website. It claims to reach over 40,000 readers.
