Maryland-based Compass Marketing has withdrawn its lawsuit against Omnicom Group, which Compass had sued over allegations that Flywheel Digital -- acquired by Omnicom in 2023 -- misappropriated Compass's trade secrets.

The withdrawal, filed with the court last week, was without prejudice, meaning Compass theoretically could revive the dispute in the future.

Compass sued Omnicom in Maryland state court in January, alleging it leveraged Flywheel Digital's trade secrets to win Amazon's massive media account late last year.

Judge Robert Thompson in Anne Arundel county dismissed Compass's complaint against Omnicom in late June, following which Compass revised its allegations and brought an amended complaint.

Omnicom recently urged Thompson to throw out the amended complaint. Compass withdrew the suit before Thompson ruled on that motion.

Omnicom had no comment.
