Chili's Brings Back 'Cheesy' Halloween Costume

Chili’s is again putting the “cheese” back in Halloween this year.

The chain has brought back its viral "MozzMates" costume, a two-person outfit that bring to life Chili’s fried mozzarella sticks. The costume divides an oversized cheese stick into two wearable pieces, with flexible pieces of "cheese” connecting the two.

The costume, modeled after the chain’s Nashville Hot Mozz option in its Triple Dipper entrée, was introduced last year and sold out within 20 minutes, per the brand.

"When we saw epic cheese pulls take over TikTok last spring, we jumped on that moment, and the momentum hasn't slowed," says Jesse Johnson, Chili's vice president of marketing. “The MozzMates costume was a fan favorite last year, and we're excited to give more fans the chance to not only pull the cheese … but be the cheese this Halloween."

The MozzMates costume will be on sale for $75 beginning Oct. 1 at 11 A.M. and is available at welcometochilis.com.

This year Chili’s is spicing up the costume by adding a competitive twist: Customers can also enter to win a real-life date  with reality TV star JaNa Craig, who says she is seeking her “ultimate MozzMate.”

To enter the contest, customers can post a video on Instagram or TikTok by Sept. 30 tagged with #ChilisMozzMates. In the video they must explain why they'd be the “perfect pair for JaNa,” who appeared on “Love Island USA” and “Destination X."

The chain is also bringing back its Witches Brew Margarita for $6 for the month of October. The seasonal margarita is made with Lunazul Blanco Tequila, blue curaçao, Monin Granny Smith Apple and a housemade sour, with a witch's broom swizzle stick.

The brand also reports that its Triple Dipper entrée, which enables guests to design their own meal with multiple options, was purchased more than one per second over the last fiscal year, resulting in more than 41 million sold.
