Jack in the Box’s in-app game is giving players the
“munchies” in an all-new, virtual way.
The Halloween-themed “DealQuest: Revenge of the Munchies,” is a “choose-your-own-adventure” type, where players will
see the chain’s menu “come to life.”
Game play consists of entering a virtual Jack in the Box restaurant with a difference: players are confronted with an “apocalyptic
twist,” where evil AI Munchie Meals are on the attack. Every typed action, question or decision affects the way the story goes, thus creating a new experience each time the game is played.
“The future of fast food isn’t just about what you order, it’s about how you experience it,” says Ryan Ostrom, Jack in the Box executive vice president, chief customer &
digital officer, in a release. “We’re pushing the boundaries of what a fast food in-app experience should look like by fusing AI, gaming, and storytelling to make the Jack app more
immersive, personalized, and fun. It’s a taste of where we’re headed: a digital ecosystem where food, deals and experiences come together.”

As players progress through the
virtual world, they receive increasingly bigger and better coupons and rewards, such as a “Free Regular Size Drink with $5+ purchase,” “BOGO $1 Jr. Chicken Sandwich,” and $5
Off $10+ purchase, among many others.
Players receive their winnings in the form of instantly redeemable rewards that are loaded into the player’s in-app offer bank. After
redeeming each reward, the players are also entered to win additional prizes such as a custom Jack in the Box gaming PC and new gaming consoles.
The “DealQuest: Revenge of the
Munchies” game is available through Oct. 31.
