Dutch Bros 'Buck For Kids' Day Raises $1.2M For Youth Nonprofits

One of the largest national coffee chains is helping kids on a local level.

Dutch Bros, in collaboration with the chain’s nonprofit arm the Dutch Bros Foundation, raised over $1.2 million through its Buck For Kids day to benefit local youth organizations across 21 states.

During the day, held this year on Sept. 19, participating locations donated $1 for each drink sold. The funds go towards a total of 245 nonprofit partners selected by local Dutch Bros operators and include Ronald McDonald House Charities, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Make-A-Wish and Special Olympics among others.

"Empowering youth in our communities is at the core of who we are at Dutch Bros," says Debbie Beisswanger, senior vice president of brand marketing at Dutch Bros, in a release. "Seeing the difference we're able to make one cup at a time with our customers makes Buck For Kids more impactful every year."

In a separate event, Dutch Bros locations in Texas came together to raise money for victims of recent floods. The one-day event, Aug. 15, was able to donate more than $239,000 to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief. The event marked the “largest single-day local giveback in [Dutch Bros] history,” according to the brand.

The drive-thru coffee company recently released a new merch collection with streetwear brand Lonely Ghost. The collab, which included sweatshirts, hats and other items, dropped on Oct. 6 and quickly sold out.

Dutch Bros currently operates over 1,000 units in 24 states mainly in the Midwest and on the West Coast. Originally founded in Grants Pass, Oregon in 1992, the chain recently reported a 28% increase in total revenue to $415.8 million and a 6.1% rise in systemwide same-shop sales for Q2 2025. The company is also reporting approximately 160 new store openings for 2025.
