Gannett has launched USA Today Play, a
digital hub for casual entertainment, gaming, puzzles, comics and horoscopes.
Paid subscribers can enjoy USA Today Play ad-free, while enjoying such expanded benefits as unlimited hints and
reveals in puzzles, Gannett says in its announcement. They will also gain access to archive content in puzzles and comics.
“As we expand to serve our audience’s hunger for casual
entertainment, PLAY combines the legacy of USA Today with a unique and playful hub for those seeking a bit of fun with their daily news,” says Dara Sanderson, vice president and
general manager of USA Today Play, in a statement.
The new hub is designed for readers “seeking a bit of fun with their daily news,” Sanderson
states.
Quizzes will be introduced in the coming months, expanding the interactive entertainment.
