
Halloween won’t be very scary this year, at least not for
retailers.  
Spending on the holiday is much bigger than that of 2024, according to data shared by Taboola. 
And online interest in Halloween has risen 133%
in the last 45 days, compared to the same period in the prior year. 
The NRF has projected record spending of $13 billion this year. 
Here are the readership increases YoY in
certain topics over the last 45 days: 
- Halloween decorations — 11,598% 
 - Trick or treat —  9,514%
 - Halloween party — 6,057% 
 - Pumpkin —  876%
 - Halloween costume — 781%
 - Haunted house
—  654%
 - Witch — 139%
 - Clown — 120%
 
The big boosts in Halloween decorations shows that people are decorating
their front yards with pumpkins. And the rise in Halloween parties indicates more people are hosting and attending festive parties than last year, Taboola reports.
