Nearly half of Americans
aren’t having as much fun as they’d like, at least according to a new report from Dave & Buster’s.
The eatertainment chain recently commissioned Talker Research to survey
5,000 adults on “fun,” which resulted in the brand’s first State of Fun Report. Results revealed that almost half (48%) found their lives currently lacking fun, despite a
whopping 89% that believe “having fun with others leads to healthier, stronger relationships.”
Fun was also said by 71% of respondents to reduce stress, while 57% said it increases
motivation and 56% reported it helps them “feel closer to the people they love.”
“Dave & Buster's has always been about bringing people together to have fun,” said
Melissa Powers, vice president of marketing. “In a culture dominated by screens and solo scrolling, our State of Fun report underscores a growing desire for real-world, shared experiences."

As to why American’s aren’t having more fun, 57% said that “cost and budget prevent them from making fun plans,” while 41% wished there were “more exciting things to
do for fun as adults.” Over half (55%) said they would be more inclined to “prioritize fun if low-cost options were available.”
Dave & Busters is using the State of Fun
Report to support the launch of 10 new games “designed to make it easier than ever to show up, play, and create meaningful moments together.” The new games include: Hot Wheels Ultimate
Speedway, ICEE Slush Rush, John Wick: Continental Pursuit, Perfect Pump, Kick N’ Win and the Human Crane, among others.
The brand will also release its annual summer pass beginning May
19, which offers unlimited gameplay in multiple different tiers, food and beverage discounts, and additional perks.
