KFC’s latest summer blockbuster tie-in marks the first time the chicken chain has offered film-themed collectibles in more than 20 years.

The brand, in partnership with DC Studios, has rolled out a "Supergirl"-themed promotion.

The last time KFC issued limited-edition toys and collectibles tied to a Hollywood property was in 1999 for “Star Wars: Episode I -- The Phantom Menace.”

Ahead of "Supergirl"s release on June 26, customers can get The Supergirl Ultimate Meal, which includes a choice of three Original Recipe Tenders or eight Nuggets, three new Supergirl-inspired sauces, a biscuit, one side, a 21 oz. Kryptonian Kooler and one Supergirl blind bag collectible.

 “We're turning the summer blockbuster ritual into a full fried chicken experience,” said said Melissa Cash, CMO, KFC U.S., in a release. "Whether you're Team Supergirl, Team Lobo or just here for the tenders, box meal meets the box office this summer in the most finger lickin’ good way.”

The Kryptonian Kooler is made with Starry, blue raspberry syrup and clear strawberry boba.

The new themed sauces include Supergirl's Solar Honey Mustard, which is a mustard sauce “with bright tang, honey-sweet balance and a sweet-heat finish inspired by the power Supergirl draws from the yellow sun.” Ruthye's Sweet Chili Revenge is described as a sweet-and-spicy chili garlic sauce, while the Lobo's Wild Ranch is a savory ranch with garlic, onion, herbs, sesame and poppy seed particulates.

The Supergirl Combo Meal includes a choice of three Original Recipe Tenders or eight Nuggets, three new Supergirl-inspired sauces, one biscuit, one side and a regular fountain drink, with no blind bag collectible.

Also available at KFC locations is what the brand describes as an “ultra-limited-edition” Krypto Collectible Bucket, inspired by the viral in-theater popcorn bucket craze, featuring a lid with new character Puppy Krypto and Supergirl-inspired design. The bucket is only available in-store for $29.99 while supplies last.
