The growing category of age-gap reality shows is about to increase by one with the arrival on Friday of “Age Inappropriate” on WeTV.

This new series showcases the lives of five couples in five different locations in the U.S. in which the age differences range from 41 years to 19 years.

The participants represent four demographic groups pairing up in various combinations -- Gen Zers, millennials, Gen Xers and baby boomers.

In the widest age gap, 74-year-old baby boomer Eric is married to 33-year-old millennial Tynisha. They reside in New Orleans.

Meanwhile, in Tampa, Florida, Gen Xer Brooke, 47, is married to Gen Zer Kai, 28 (above photo). They are described by WeTV as hedonists who create content for OnlyFans.

The other couples are Kent, 60, and Jay-Anne, 29, of Honolulu; Janet, 60, and Drew, 40, of Atlanta; and Vic, 50, and Caroline, 24, of Troy, New York.

“ ‘Age Inappropriate’ is a new unscripted series exploring the real lives of modern age-gap relationships,” says a WeTV press release.

“Age-gap relationships are layered with complexities of power dynamics, family pressure, stereotypes, financial imbalance and yes, true love,” WeTV says. “Can couples separated by decades truly build a lasting love?”

“Age Inappropriate” joins a handful of other age-gap reality shows that have come and gone in recent years.

Premiering last March, “Age of Attraction” on Netflix is the newest one. 

The show is styled as a dating contest and social experiment in which 20 men and 20 women ages 22 to 60 go on dates and then agree to make a commitment to another contestant without knowing each other’s age.

The eight-episode series has been renewed for a second season.

In 2022, Peacock had a series called “Love for the Ages,” in which “three middle-aged married couples at a crossroads swap their spouses for younger partners to see what life could be like before deciding to split,” says Peacock.

NBCU made just one season of “Love for the Ages,” but that single season can still be seen on Peacock.

Older-younger relationships have long been part of the “90-Day Fiancé” universe on TLC.  

It was also the focal point of the atrocious “MILF Manor” reality show, which premiered in January 2023, also on TLC.

This show was one of the worst-reviewed TV shows in recent memory, but it nevertheless stuck around for two seasons (21 episodes).

Love and romance among the older set came to the forefront of mainstream TV on ABC with “The Golden Bachelor” and “The Golden Bachelorette.” 

On neither show were younger contestants part of the picture. 

“Age Inappropriate” premieres Friday (August 8) at 9 p.m. Eastern on WeTV.
