Social media ad scams caused over $90 million in losses last year, the Federal Trade Commission reported, Scripps News reports. Nearly 30% of consumers who lost money said it began on social
media, an eightfold increase over 2020. More money was lost on Facebook than any other social platform. Next were WhatsApp and Instagram. All age groups except for those over 80 lost more money
