Pret Turns NYC Union Square Shop Into A Real Nightclub For Club Pret Relaunch

Pret A Manger has revamped its monthly subscription club and is relaunching it with a different kind of club.

Club Pret is the brand’s monthly beverage subscription, which now gets members up to five barista-made drinks a day for $50 a month, including matcha drinks and unlimited drink customizations, as well as 20% off the full Pret menu.

The UK-based sandwich and organic coffee brand is celebrating the program’s relaunch with a one-night-only pop-up, apply named Club Pret. On Oct. 23 from 6-9 P.M., the chain’s Union Square location in New York City will be transformed into an actual club, featuring a live DJ and serving espresso and matcha martinis.

"We've given Club Pret a serious upgrade, with more value and more flexibility in how you enjoy your daily Pret fix, so we wanted to celebrate with a club night of our own," said Felipe Athayde, president of North America, Pret A Manger, in a release.

Attendees will enter the shop via a red carpet, then proceed upstairs to the Club Pret lounge. The brand has tapped New York street artist Frank Ape (Brandon Sines), best known for his viral “Sasquatch” character, to create a mural featuring Pret beverages on the side of the building. Club Pret attendees will receive a limited-edition Pret x Frank Ape tote, which for five lucky partygoers will contain a “golden key” redeemable for one free year of Club Pret membership.

Founded in London in 1986, Pret currently operates 730 shops in 21 global markets including the U.K, U.S. Hong Kong, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, India, Italy and Spain, among others. The chain is majority-owned by JAB Holding Company, along with sister brands Panera Bread and Krispy Kreme.
