Nielsen Media Research Thursday announced plans to support a third year of a post-graduate certificate program for careers in television research at New York University this summer. Now in its third
year, the six- week
Nielsen Television Research program culminates in a certificate in TV Audience Measurement, which has
resulted in job offers for program graduates at broadcast and cable networks, local stations and advertising agencies. The course is taught by veteran TV researcher and consultant Richard Zackon, who
also happens to be managing Nielsen's so-called Council For Research Excellence, a client-driven research and development group backed by $2.5 million in funding from the TV ratings giant.
