July Ad Revenue 21% Higher For Scripps Cable Networks Than '05

The Scripps Co. said its cable networks group saw a 21 percent growth in ad revenue in July compared to a year ago. Part of the gain might be attributable to a weak summer performance among the broadcast networks, and advertisers' increased interest in highly targeted networks. The Scripps group led by HGTV and Food Network posted $61.9 million in ad dollars for the month.
