MacKenzie Made Editor in Chief of Motor Trend Magazine

  • April 26, 2004
Motor Trend has poached Angus MacKenzie from Car magazine, one of the UK's top automotive publications, to serve as its editor in chief. Slated to start his new job in August, MacKenzie boasts a wealth of international publishing experience. He was formerly editor of Wheels, an Australian auto title, and motoring editor for Today, a national news and lifestyle TV show.

"What sets Angus apart is his deep interest in both the products and the automotive business itself," said Jacques Nasser, former chief executive officer of Ford Motor Company, in a press release. "He sees the industry the way customers do."

MacKenzie replaces Kevin Smith, who has been promoted to editorial director of PRIMEDIA's Performance Automotive Group. In his new post, Smith will oversee the editorial direction of more than 50 automotive and motorcycle titles.
