Avenue A/Razorfish Taps Baker To Head E-Mail Unit

David Baker has left as head of e-mail marketing at Agency.com to take the same position at interactive rival Avenue A/Razorfish. As vice president of e-mail solutions at aQuantive's Avenue A/Razorfish, Baker will be responsible for expanding the firm's e-mail marketing efforts and integrating e-mail campaigns into the agency's digital marketing initiatives.

"With David's expertise and leadership, we are well-positioned to anticipate and provide our clients' e-mail marketing needs on a global scale," said Lee Sherman, vice president of Global Solutions, Avenue A/Razorfish, in a statement.

At Agency.com, Baker, a MediaPost columnist, helped build the firm's e-mail business and brand awareness for clients including VISA, 3M, UPromise, Shutterfly, Miller, CNN, Maidenform, Energizer Brands, Del Monte Foods and others. Prior to his position at Agency.com, Baker worked for Omnicom's Targetbase, building out e-mail services into the direct marketing service practice.

Baker sits on two e-mail sub-committees for the Interactive Advertising Bureau and participates in several e-mail round tables with the Email Experience Council.

Avenue A/Razorfish clients include AstraZeneca, Best Buy, Ford Motor Company, Hotels.com, JP Morgan Chase, Kraft, Microsoft and Nike.
