Motorola Names Packaged Goods Marketer New CMO

Kenneth "Casey" Keller was named executive VP and CMO of Motorola yesterday, replacing the late Geoffrey Frost, who energized the company's marketing with the company's Razr line of phones. Keller was previously chairman and ceo of Heinz Italy, and also a former chief growth officer for H.J. Heinz. He also worked at Procter & Gamble, with responsibility for the Pringles and Duncan Hines brands. Separately, Motorola reported yesterday that its third-quarter profit fell 45 percent from the previous year. The company posted $10.6 billion in sales, beating the year-ago quarter by 17 percent, but missing analyst expectations by nearly half a billion dollars.
