special-interest publications that are experiencing declines in ad revenue. In fact, according to the Publishers Information Bureau (PIB),
Outside's ad pages are only down 0.5% for the year to
date, while revenues are up 5.4%.
Outside should have been included in the list of men's "general interest titles" that are doing better overall. With its inclusion, total revenue for these
general-interest titles rose 2.1%--not 1%, as originally stated. Also, special-interest publications saw revenue decline 16.5%--not 14.5%, as originally stated.
