MatrixStream: New VOD Service Via Internet

Think you have enough TV options in this modern digital world? Think again.

West Coast TV technology company MatrixStream Technologies has finally launched its long-awaited VOD service, MyTVPal.com, using the Internet to deliver DVD and HD-quality video content.

That's a selling point, since the company claims that virtually all movie download companies offer sub-DVD quality content.

How is it delivered? Viewers will get MyTVPal.com as a monthly subscription service--free-of-advertising. MyTVPal's goal is to get up to 100,000 DVD and HD quality movies, with a lineup of up to 1,000 channels.

Just like the new video services from AT&T and Verizon, MatrixStream works off the IPTV platform. Already, MatrixStream is working with 25 major broadband service providers around the world.

But to receive these high-quality videos, consumers will need to get the MatrixStream's new set-top player, IMX 1020 HD. The company says no downloading or PC is required.

MyTVPal.com launched yesterday with a free preview: "North America's Best Independent Animated Shorts," an 84-minute compilation feature film.

Other current titles include "Born To Win," staring Robert De Niro; "If Tomorrow Comes," with James Franco, "Wake," with Martin Landau and Gale Harold; and "Night of the Living Dead" and "Corrupt Lieutenant" with Harvey Keitel.
