Beech-Nut To Debut Baby Food Based On Time Of Day

  • April 12, 2007
Beech-Nut Nutrition Corp. is launching a new line of baby foods with pretty basic names, "Good Morning" and "Good Evening," intended to reflect infant feedings based on the time of day and their nutritional needs.

The new line will be supported with consumer advertising starting in May.

The morning food is made with whole grain and soluble fiber that encourages a steady release of energy throughout the morning, the company says. High-quality protein in the dinner feeding is intended to help build muscle. It also keeps babies calm and relaxed.

One ingredient, a prebiotic called inulin, which is found naturally in foods such as chicory root, aid digestion. Beech-Nut says it is the first major jarred baby food and cereals to include prebiotics.

The company claims it is also the only major baby food brand free of added refined sugar.
